Security

It’s strong enough to hold up to anything except fairly large bolt cutters wielded by someone with enough strength to squeeze through a quarter-inch of hardened steel, or an angle grinder. You can rest assured that your fingerprint padlock is just as secure, if not even more so, than a standard padlock. As it unlocks with your fingerprint, it is actually more secure than other options, since you can’t lose your key or risk somebody getting hold of your combination code.

It’s important to remember that no lock is fully secure, the question isn’t about whether it can be broken, it’s more about how easy or how long does it take to break and how much of a deterrent is it?

Blusafe smart locks use a biometric fingerprint sensor, which is much more secure than the old optical fingerprint sensor. So if you want to copy someone’s fingerprint from a wine glass like James Bond, it isn’t going to work. Blusafe smart locks also use AES128 encryption for communication (Bluetooth) which is the same security level as is used in banks.

Blusafe smart locks have passed many stringent test certifications such as BSI/CE/BHMA. Our Breeze internal door handles don’t use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, so there is no way to hack the lock and fingerprints can’t be cloned. Origin Smart, our external door lock, uses a Wi-Fi bridge to connect to your smart home and give you connectivity from anywhere. To hack a Blusafe smart lock would mean hacking into Tuya, as our App is based on their platform. Tuya is the third biggest IoT provider in the world and has extremely high levels of security to protect against hacking of any smart home devices on their platform.

As with any fingerprint technology, the fingerprint may not be recognised every time. We recommend that you register multiple fingers for each person, ideally on each hand, just in case one finger isn’t recognised. If your finger isn’t recognised, try another finger.

If it doesn’t recognise your finger, it is usually due to your finger being wet or dirty. Therefore make sure you have wiped and dried your fingerprint before use. You may need to dry the fingerprint pad if there is moisture on it from poor weather conditions.

Origin Smart: On the odd occasion that it still doesn’t register, use the key card or the app to unlock the door. Please be aware that if your fingerprint doesn’t work 5 times in a row, the handle will stop operating for 1 minute before you can try again.

Breeze: If your fingerprint still isn’t working, you can use the backup key to manually unlock the door.

FAR (False Accept Rate) means the percentage of times the biometric reader recognises a false finger as a correct one.

FRR (False Reject Rate) means the percentage of times the biometric reader recognises a correct finger as a false one.

Fingerprint internal door locks offer a higher level of security for your home. They are tougher to defeat than standard key locks, and not only use your fingerprints but also come with 2 back up keys. You can add additional fingerprints to the system, allowing access only to friends and family. The Blusafe Breeze door locks can secure individual rooms within a property or office building, increasing privacy and security standards. Because our door lock can be opened with a back-up key as well as a fingerprint, you never need to worry about being locked out.
The batteries in the Breeze fingerprint internal door lock should last roughly 6 months, so once they have run out you will need to replace them. You will also receive low battery warnings for approximately 200 operations before the batteries die. Blusafe Breeze biometric locking systems come with a key for this very reason. When your lock has no power, it can still be opened with a spare key or connected to a Micro USB port using a spare power supply and unlocked with a fingerprint. If you believe your product is faulty, or isn’t working perfectly on new batteries, contact us for assistance and we will respond as soon as possible.
Our Blusafe Breeze biometric fingerprint systems lock instantly when you shut the door, unlike many standard key locks, providing you a higher sense of security in your home.
No, our smart locks are made from the most durable, high-grade materials to ensure maximum security. Due to the fact that no key is used, locks can’t be picked making it even more secure. The Origin Smart has passed the BSI TS621 certification, which is the British standard for smart locks and is heavily tested for various break in methods.
On the Blusafe Smart App, you can see a full activity log of who has unlocked and when. There is an alarm section that specifies when people try but fail to get into the door.
This all depends on whether the lock was locked or open before the battery died. On most occasions, it will be locked, because the door will be shut. When the batteries run out, all information (fingerprints, key cards, users) will be stored, so when new batteries are installed, everything works as it did before.
It is unlikely that the smart lock will not recognise your fingerprint after the first try, however, we recommend that you register at least 3 fingerprints, just in case. Make sure that your finger and the fingerprint pad are dry and free from dirt or grease. And input the fingerprints from various angels when registering them onto the lock. If for any reason it isn’t recognising your finger, please open the handle via the App or with a key card.
All Blusafe smart locks undergo substantial testing, specifically testing that simulates strong magnetic and electrical interference. All Blusafe locks are required to pass this testing and comply with local requirements.
All Blusafe locks undergo substantial testing against physical attack. When available, Blusafe submits our locks to be tested by independent certification agencies (for example, BSI in the United Kingdom). Our locks are as robust against physical attacks as standard locks.
User data is stored locally on the lock, not on any servers that can be hacked. The lock itself and the App are protected by the most up-to-date security features available on the market.
No. Blusafe Solutions uses the most advanced fingerprint sensor technology in our locks; only a living fingerprint will work to activate the lock.

If an injury occurs to the finger where the fingerprint is no longer whole or matches what is in the system, e.g., a cut or blistered finger, the sensor will likely not be able to recognize the fingerprint and the lock will not activate.

It is recommended to enter several fingerprints from each hand when setting up your lock.

Hardware/Installation

Whilst many fingerprint locks require the use of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in order to work, the Blusafe Breeze system does not. The fingerprint technology in the lock is battery operated and has no connection to the internet. Therefore the lock will work regardless of a power cut or the loss of internet.

If the batteries die, you are still provided with a manual backup key so you won’t be locked out. We do recommend changing the batteries every 6 months, depending on how frequently you use the lock, to prevent the use of the backup key.

Unfortunately, no, Our Blusafe Breeze fingerprint door lock requires four non-rechargeable AAA alkaline batteries. However, these batteries can last up to 6 months, so the benefits of using rechargeable ones are minimal for our products.
The Breeze fingerprint door lock is powered with 4 x AAA batteries. Please keep in mind that using better quality batteries will extend the battery life and they can’t be rechargeable batteries.

The answer to this will depend on the standard of batteries installed and how frequently the handle is used, but typically it lasts up to 6 months. We recommend that the batteries are replaced every 6 months for optimum performance anyway. However, if certain locks are rarely used then this time period could be extended. The higher the standard of batteries, the longer they will last.

Before the device runs out of power, you will receive low battery warnings for around the last 50 operations.

Our Blusafe Breeze fingerprint internal door locks are designed to fit on any internal doors with a standard latch, such as a bedroom or office door. If your doors have an existing lock with a built in key hole, then Breeze won’t be suitable. However, Breeze can replace punch code locks commonly found on HMO bedroom doors.

So if your door ticks this box, then our Breeze system will work for you! They are ideal for bedroom doors, office doors, and more. If you can install a standard lock, you’ll be able to install a fingerprint lock as well.

If you are still unsure whether our product is suitable for your internal doors, contact us with any questions.

Blusafe Origin Smart is designed to fit doors with a standard UK 92mm lift handle multi-point lock. There are a few obscure locks that don’t work well, therefore we recommend that you send a picture to us to confirm if you are unsure. To see more information on whether Origin Smart will fit your door, please click here.

Origin will not work on Traditional Latch locks, Mortice locks or standard Deadbolt locks.

If you are still unsure whether Origin will work on your door or you are unsure what a multi-point lock looks like, please feel free to email a picture of your door and lock to info@smarterlocks.ie and we will let you know ASAP.

The Origin Smart is made of a robust zinc alloy and our advanced 7-layer plating process provides excellent corrosion resistance. The lock is IP65 water resistant to make sure your lock can survive all weather conditions. The lock is built from robust materials and is designed for maximum security.

The easiest way is via the app; however it can also be done manually on the handle. Please see the instruction manual or ‘How To Videos’ here for clear instructions.

App: Open the app whilst in Bluetooth range of the handle, touch your displayed handle, then touch ‘Users’ and choose which user you want to assign it to. You can see the fingerprints or Key cards already registered to the handle, simply click ‘Add’ under either ‘Fingerprints’ or ‘Key cards’. Follow the instructions and name the fingerprint/key card.

Handle: Push the set button (located on the inside handle under the bottom cover). Then either: press your fingerprint (at the top of the external handle) 4 separate times, in 4 different positions, OR; present the key card/fob to the reading area (just above the lever on external handle)

We strongly recommend that you get Origin Smart installed professionally as doors can have various quirks and variations. If you wish to install it yourself, please see the ‘How To Videos’ for a full installation walkthrough. Otherwise, use the physical instructions provided with the handle, or download the manual if you have lost your physical copy.
We strongly recommend having the Origin Smart professionally installed, as doors can be complicated and have various issues. However, our videos enable you to install the lock quickly and easily, with installation and setup taking 30-60 mins typically. If you have any questions, contact us.

Blusafe locks are suitable for most doors, including composite, uPVC, and wooden doors with a thickness between 1 ¾ inches – 2 ¾ inches (44-70 mm).

We do not currently have a lock that works with sliding glass doors; however, we are in the process of developing one.

Blusafe locks are designed to replace your existing lock and can also be installed into a new door. If replacing an existing lock, simply remove the original mechanical lock and replace it with your new Blusafe lock. Installation is meant to be Do It Yourself (DIY) and can be done by using the installation instructions provided with your lock. If you are not sure if your door or lock is suitable, we recommend consulting your dealer or a locksmith to assist with installation.

The electronic components are guaranteed for 1 year and have service life of 8-10 years; the hardware is guaranteed for 3 years, with a service life of 8-10 years.

Furthermore, Blusafe shares its own manufacturing facility with a key supplier for other lock brands. We have a unique 7-layer plating on the external plating of the hardware, which creates a substantially durable product that is highly resistant to wear and corrosion.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity

If you’re experiencing connection issues between your home router and the device, it’s important to check the router’s frequency settings. Many devices require a 2.4GHz connection to pair correctly. If your dual-band router is set to 5GHz, this may be the cause of the connection problem. To resolve this, please reconfigure your router to use the 2.4GHz mode. You can find instructions on how to do this in your router’s user manual, or you may contact the manufacturer for step-by-step guidance. Ensuring your router operates on the correct frequency should help establish a successful connection with the device.

Some locks (i.e., Contour) have an internal Wi-Fi Bridge and does not need an external Wi-Fi bridge to connect to the internet. Other models (i.e., Cloud) need to have an External Wi-Fi bridge to connect to the internet.

In order for the Wi-Fi Bridge to work properly, it must be placed within 15 feet of the lock.

You will need to be within 15 feet of the lock for Bluetooth to function properly and utilize your smart devices’ Bluetooth to operate the lock. However, if your lock is connected to your home’s Wi-Fi, you can control the lock with the Blusafe Smart App so long as your smart device has a connection to the internet.

Power

Please use alkaline batteries, do not use carbon batteries.

Origin Smart / Cloud: 4 x AA alkaline batteries. Please note that using better quality batteries will extend the battery life and these can’t be rechargeable batteries.

Contour: 8 x AA alkaline batteries. Please note that using better quality batteries will extend the battery life and these can’t be rechargeable batteries.

Breeze: 4 x AAA alkaline batteries. Please note that using better quality batteries will extend the battery life and these can’t be rechargeable batteries.

Mirage: Internal rechargeable battery, charged via a Micro USB port.

No, unfortunately the Origin Smart requires non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries and the Breeze requires non-rechargeable AAA alkaline batteries.

The Mirage padlock features a built-in rechargeable battery that is powered by a Micro USB cable.

Blusafe Origin Smart is battery operated and works via Bluetooth; therefore you are never locked out. You will still be able to use your fingerprint, key-card or App if there is a power cut.

The only functionality that will be affected is when using the Wi-Fi bridge as it requires an internet connection. This only affects unlocking the door remotely however, all other functions will not be affected.

Blusafe Breeze is battery operated and has no connection to the internet, therefore the lock will work regardless. If the batteries die, it still has a manual backup key.

Blusafe Mirage is powered by an internal, rechargeable battery, therefore the lock will work providing it has charge. If the battery dies, it can be powered via a Micro USB cable.

Blusafe Smart App

My device list in App supports up to 200 devices, and you can create up to 20 families, so that adds up to 4000 devices.
The number of connected devices is determined by the router. Generally, an ordinary home router can connect more than 10 devices. The maximum number varies according to the router parameters you choose.
For the dual-band router, you can log in to the setting background of the router to change the SSIDs of the two frequency bands, so as to separate the 2.4Ghz network from the 5Ghz network. You can also use the hotspot mode (compatible mode) according to the instructions of the App. In this mode, the device will automatically find a 2.4Ghz network for network distribution.
The specific upper limit of quantity is as follows:
  1. Maximum number of timings that can be added to a single device: 30
  2. Maximum number of devices that can be added to a single household: 200

Yes, the Blusafe APP is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
When a new software/firmware version is available, you will be alerted on the APP when the lock is opened. If you agree to the update on the APP, the software/firmware will update via its Bluetooth connection to your smart device.
Administrator permissions are tied to the user account. When you use a new phone to log in with the administrator account, the lock tied to the administrator will automatically appear on the new phone. However, if you need to clear the lock tied to the old phone, you will need to manually clear the lock of the user data.

First, download the app, search ‘Blusafe’ on App Store or Google Play. Then register on the app, this is a quick process. Once logged into the app, press the ‘+’ in the top right of the screen. This should pick up your Origin Smart handle and you can follow the on-screen prompts to add the handle to the app.

You can see a full set up tutorial on our ‘How To Videos’ page, or you have a full set up manual in the box.

You can add people to the family and share permanent or temporary e-keys with whoever you like. However, only one phone can be the homeowner who can then assign users as Administrators or Common Members, depending on the level of control they want that user to have.
Yes, the user will need to have the app downloaded and they need to register. This is for security reasons, so that their phone can create a secure key connection and also so you can see who has used the lock on the lock history.

Yes, the app provides a full audit trail of who has used the Origin Smart and when. (Make sure to name fingerprints/key-cards on the app, so you know who it was!)

If your Origin is connected to the Wi-Fi hub, your history will be constantly up to date. If your Origin Smart isn’t connected to Wi-Fi hub, the history will update when you are in Bluetooth range and unlock the door via the app.

Yes, if you have the Blusafe Wi-Fi hub. This allows your Origin Smart to connect to the internet and to control it from anywhere via the app, as long as your phone has an internet connection. You will be able to unlock your door, share e-Keys, remove e-Keys, remove fingerprints/key-cards, see lock history and get notifications.
Yes, you can choose the time and date range that you wish to grant access to a visitor. This is made possible via our app, which allows you to grant access to people that don’t have their fingerprint set on the Origin smart lock. The visitor would need to download the app and register to use the temporary key.
Most smartphones have an “auto-fill password” feature, which can be turned on to remember your login password when you unlock your phone.
After replacing your home network router or changing the password on your existing router, because the relevant network configuration has changed, you will need to adjust the settings on your lock and other IoT devices so that they can connect to the Wi-Fi router.
Because our App is powered by Tuya, one of the world’s leading IoT platforms, our Blusafe Smart App is compatible with many IoT products. However, it depends on the IoT brand and the Apps with which they are compatible. You should read the product’s manual carefully before connecting, as you may need to register on that product’s App.

If your device is not connecting to your phone/App via Bluetooth, please check the following:

  • Make sure that your phone is within 10 feet of the lock. Ideally, you should be as close as possible to the lock to ensure that the Bluetooth connection is as strong as possible.
  • Check the settings on your phone to make sure the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features are turned on.
  • Check to make sure that another user is not connected to the lock. Only one user can be connected to the lock at a time as a Bluetooth device can only be controlled and used by one user at a time. Your lock will show ‘Offline’ in the App when another user is connected to it.
  • Please make sure that the device is added in the App. If not, please add the device to the App by searching for the device and following the instructions.
  • When connecting the Bluetooth device, the mobile phone must be connected to the network because the Bluetooth device needs to be registered in the cloud server before it can be added successfully.
  • If you use an Android phone, you must open the location permission of the App.
  • If none of the above works, you may want to try and rest the lock and try and add the device to the App again.

Except for pictures and videos captured by the device’s camera (for devices equipped with a camera), which are kept for 30 days, the user’s information is kept in the App permanently in the App until the user deactivates the account.

Personal information is not kept in a central database and is only kept on the phone upon which the App is installed.

If you are a homeowner, after you remove the home, the home disappears, and the added devices are reset. If you are an administrator or an ordinary member, removing the family means that you leave the family, your App can no longer see the family, can no longer operate the devices, but the family will not disappear on another member’s App.

If you cannot share the device or add others to your family, please check the following:

Confirm whether you are the owner of the device, not the shared device, and whether you are the owner or administrator of the family (the sharer of the device and ordinary family members cannot share the device and add family members);

Confirm whether the user has their own account on the Blusafe Smart App (sharing and adding family must have an account on the Blusafe Smart App, regardless of having an account on Alexa or Google Home);

Confirm whether you and the other party are registered in the same country/region. You can only share the equipment registered in the same country/region;

If you invite others to join the family by sharing the invitation code, and the other party shows that the invitation code has expired after entering the invitation code, it indicates that the invitee’s account and yours are not in the same country/region.

Click ‘…’ on the App’s home page, then click ‘Device Management’.

Press and hold the device icon and drag the device’s icon to sort it and place the devices in your desired order.

The App does not yet support this function yet.
Only Homeowners and Administrators can invite other family members to join the home. However, only the family owner can give others administrator permissions, and the members added by the Administrator can only be ordinary members.
You can add up to 20 family members or administrators to a single family.

First, you should try and update the App. If no update is available, please reinstall the App and restart your phone.

If updating/reinstalling the App does not work, you can restore the previous firmware version in the App.

The firmware upgrade may fail if the wireless network is unstable. If you cannot connect to a stronger network, you can try connecting to your mobile phone’s hotspot.

Also, please note that the App is required to be open and running during the update. If the App is only working in the background or if you exit the App, the update will fail.

There are several ways in which you can share your device

Sharing a single device:

  • In the App, on the devices control page, click the icon in the upper right corner to enter the device’s setting page
  • Click ‘Share Device’
  • Click ‘Add Sharing’
  • Click ‘Share with the Account Blusafe Smart’
  • Enter the other party’s mobile phone number/E-mail, and click ‘Finish’ to share the device

Sharing all home devices:

  • Go to the App’s homepage and click ‘Me’
  • Click ‘Home Management’
  • Enter the family to be set
  • Click ‘Add Member’
  • Add the family and friends with whom you would like to share the devices. This operation does not need to re-share a single device.
You need to replace the email with a short name, and then share again.
When the lock and the App first connect, it will not usually show the lock’s power level. You can restart the App and it should now show the lock’s power level.

Likely you are not receiving notification due to the settings on your phone.  Please check the following:

  1. Make sure that your mobile phone permissions allow our App to push messages; usually this is in the Settings area of your phone.
  2. Make sure that you have enabled the Blusafe Smart App to push messages
    • Open the App
    • Click My Message Center
    • Click the button in the upper right corner to enter the message push settings
    • Click “Enable Message Push”. If it is a camera device, you also need to turn on the “Motion Detection Alarm Switch”
  3. Make sure the “Do Not Disturb” setting is turned off. If your phone is in “Do Not Disturb” mode, you will not receive notifications
  4. If you still cannot receive push messages, please check whether the message center in App has received new message notifications;
  5. Some Android mobile phone systems will force our App’s messages to be judged as marketing information, thus forcing the push and sound/vibration reminder functions to be turned off;
  6. Due to the limitations of some Android systems, some Android phones can only receive up to 24 App push messages. If these push messages are not cleared, the phone will not be able to receive new push messages.
  7. The power-saving function of some Android phones will turn off the background process of the App, which may prevent the phone from receiving push notifications. Please turn off the power-saving function of the Android phone.
  8. Please allow the App to start automatically in the system settings of the Android phone, otherwise the Android system will periodically shut down the App background processes that are not in use, which will also affect the normal push of App messages.

Entry Door Locks - Origin

In the “Setting” section of the app you can manage, including adding, deleting and naming.

Clean the fingerprint and fingerprint screen; ensure that the fingerprint is placed in the correct position and try several times.

It is recommended to try different angles of entry when setting up the same fingerprint, or to set up more fingerprints for several fingers.

Locking, and unlocking trigger angle 45°, maximum opening angle ≤ 59°.
When the phone is connected to the lock’s Bluetooth communication and used again it will show the battery level.
Try turning the phone’s location on and pairing it again.
Basically maintenance-free, just keep the fingerprint screen clean.
Serious injuries may not open, so it is recommended to enter a few more fingerprints when setting up.
Use of living creatures, which cannot be unlocked even after being copied.

When the batteries are low, you will be prompted before they run out (roughly 200 uses of the handle left). You will hear a voice prompt every time you use the door saying ‘Low Battery’, until the batteries run out. You will be able to see the battery power remaining on the app.

We recommend changing the batteries as soon as you hear the prompt to avoid any issues.

If the batteries do run out, there is a connection point located at the bottom of the external handle that connects to a standard 9V battery. This will give the handle enough power to operate and unlock, for you to then replace the 4 x AA batteries on the internal handle. We recommend keeping one safely stored in case of emergencies, however 9V batteries can be purchased at most stores or car garages if required.

Simply remove the battery cover on the internal handle and replace the 4 x AA batteries with 4 new ones. We recommend using high-quality batteries for a longer-lasting life and they can’t be rechargeable batteries.
To unlock the door with the fob/key card, you first need to wake the lock up by touching the light underneath the logo on the external handle. When you see it light up, touch your fob/key card to this area and it will unlock the door.

Typically, this issue is caused due to incorrect installation. Please check the below possible solutions.

  1. The selected toggle is too long, select the corresponding size of toggle according to the door thickness in the installation instructions.
  2. The internal mounting plate must be positioned with the fitting jig before tightening the M5 screws.
  3. The M5 screw holding the locking cylinder is too tight, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw by half a turn.
Turn the phone’s location on and attempt to pair it again.
If the door is not locked, Origin will alert you that the door is unlocked.

If batteries seem to be draining more quickly than they should, it may be because there is a mix of old and newer batteries in the lock. We recommend you first replace ALL the batteries with a new set of batteries. Please ensure that the batteries are installed properly as per the manual. The new batteries should be the same brand and type.

After replacing the batteries with a set of new batteries and the problem persists, please contact Blusafe.

User data stored in the lock will not be lost when you remove the batteries to replace them, or the batteries are dead.

When the batteries are very low, a warning will be given. When the warning is heard, the batteries should be replaced as soon as possible.

If the batteries have completely died, there is a back-up power connection port on the underside of the outer lock, to which a 9V battery can be connected to provide power to the lock to open the lock in this event.

It is important to replace the batteries as soon as the lower power warning is heard or if you have had to use a power bank to open the lock.

The batteries last approximately six (6) months. Make sure the battery is alkaline. Do not use carbon battery.
Temporary or permanent keys can be shared to the visitor’s email address via the App, provided the visitor has downloaded the app and registered as a user.

The Origin is not Wi-Fi capable. The App can be used when your smart device is within Blusafe range (~15 feet). Note that you will also need to wave your hand across the lock’s ‘Wake-up’ area as well.

The Origin-Smart has Wi-Fi capability and can be opened remotely through the Blusafe Smart App.

After using the App’s unlock button, you also need to touch the wakeup area of the lock to unlock it (the Blusafe logo is located on the wakeup area).
There can be only one (1) administrator level user. By default, the administrator is the first user to scan the QR code.
Cards can be added by pressing the ‘Setup’ button on your lock or by using the App. However, cards can only be removed by using the App.
The card needs to be placed on the reading area (over the Blusafe logo). If it still does not read. Purchase new card from the Blusafe dealer.
Only Blusafe cards can be used as they are specially encrypted for your added security. You can purchase replacement cards on Blusafe’s website, or you can order through your dealer.
The lock can store up to fifty (50) different cards.
You can follow the instructions for adding and deleting a fingerprint in the manual that comes with your lock or check out our ‘How To’ videos. Adding and removing a fingerprint can be done by pressing the ‘Settings’ button on your lock; however, the removal of fingerprints can only be done through the application on your smart device.
If installed correctly, the door can be opened by pressing down on the handle as soon as the fingerprint verification is successful. If the lock still does not open, please contact the dealer or Blusafe.

The fingerprint reader can sometimes be quite sensitive to dirt and other particles that may settle on the reader. Make sure your fingerprint is clean and free from grease and dirt and clean the fingerprint scanner. This should resolve most issues.

If it still doesn’t resolve the issue, try using an alternative stored fingerprint (remember, it is important to store several of your fingerprints in the lock).

The lock has an IP65 waterproof rating (just like a commercially available mobile phone); however, the fingerprint reader and your finger must be clean and dry for the sensor to work properly.
The lock can store up to fifty (50) fingerprints.

Internal Door Locks - Breeze

Our Blusafe Breeze biometric door can register up to 50 fingerprints at any one time with an easy set-up and reset process. This makes it ideal for uses such as shared student accommodations or offices, where a number of people may require access.

Students/tenants are also given a better feeling of privacy with fingerprint door locks, with no risk of a previous tenant still having keys to that room.

Our Blusafe Breeze door locks are easy to fit on any internal door with a standard latch. After installation, setting up your fingerprints is simple.

You will be provided with a set tool which needs to be inserted before registering a fingerprint. The first three prints are classified as admins and therefore can authorise any new fingerprints that might be added.

The biometric system is only accessible on the outside, meaning you do not need your fingerprint to exit your room or office. The door automatically locks when fully shut, and can only be reopened with a registered fingerprint or the backup key.

If you want to leave the door unlocked instead of it locking automatically, you can just leave the backup key turned in the handle and operate it normally. When you want it to automatically lock again, just remove the key.

Blusafe Breeze locks are for internal purposes only, so can be used for bedrooms, offices, or any internal door that you would like locking. They are installed for privacy reasons, especially in shared homes, and are perfect for landlords renting out to multiple tenants.

Our Blusafe Breeze locking systems do not need fingerprints to lock. Instead, simply shut the door and we’ll take care of the rest. The system automatically locks once a door has been closed, and can only be opened again with a valid fingerprint, or a backup key. Inside of the room, it will operate like any other door handle. It really is that easy.

The problem is likely cause by one of the M16 nut (see manual) that locks the handle being on too tight. Try loosening the M16 nut slightly.

With normal use, the batteries should last about ten (10) months. Check whether the battery is alkaline. Do not use carbon battery.

The first three (3) fingerprints recorded on the lock are considered ‘ADMIN’ fingerprints and will be required to add additional fingerprints or remove fingerprints.

Yes, it is possible to delete the fingerprints from your Breeze internal door lock.  However, you cannot delete a single fingerprint and MUST delete all fingerprints stored in the lock when deleting fingerprints.

You can follow the instructions for deleting a fingerprint in the manual that comes with your lock or check out our ‘How To’ videos.  You can also follow the instructions below:

Instructions:

  1. Use the setting needle (Item ‘K’ in your part’s list) to press the SET button located at the end of the internal handle for eight (8) seconds. When you hear a double beep and the LED lights up BLUE, release the SET button.
  2. Press the fingerprint sensor with a registered ADMIN fingerprint. If successful you will hear a long beep and the LED will light up GREEN (If the LED lights up RED, an ADMIN fingerprint was not recognized and you will need to start the process over).

All fingerprint data has been deleted and the handle has been reset.

You can follow the instructions for adding a fingerprint in the manual that comes with your lock or check out our ‘How To’ videos.  You can also follow the instructions below:

Note: an ADMIN fingerprint will be required to authorize the registration of new fingerprints.  We recommend that all users register at least 3 fingerprints to ensure that they have a backup if the sensor fails to recognize one.

Instructions:
  1. Use the setting needle (Item ‘K’ in your part’s list) to press the SET button. The SET button is located at the end of the handle on the internal side of the lock. Press the button once, and 1 beep will sound and the LED light will turn BLUE
  2. Press the fingerprint sensor with a registered ADMIN fingerprint.  You will hear a long beep and the LED light will flicker GREEN, then turn BLUE. The lock is now ready to register a new fingerprint.  (Note: if three beeps sound and the LED turns off, the authorization was unsuccessful, and you need to repeat the process.)
  3. Briefly place your finger/thumb on the fingerprint sensor and the REMOVE it once you have heard a double beep.  Repeat this process three (3) more times until the LED light turns GREEN.
  4. When adding a new fingerprint, remember to record your fingerprint at different angles to increase the fingerprint reader accuracy.

Your USER fingerprint is now registered.

The fingerprint read can sometimes be quite sensitive to dirt and other particles that may settle on the reader. Make sure your fingerprint is clean and free from grease and dirt and clean the fingerprint scanner. This should resolve most issues. If it still doesn’t resolve the issue, try using an alternative stored fingerprint (remember, it is important to store several of your fingerprints in the lock).
The Breeze is meant for internal use only lock and is not waterproof.
The Breeze internal door lock can store up to fifty (50) fingerprints.

Smart Padlocks

Mirage fingerprint padlocks are IP65 water resistant, meaning they can be used outdoors.

You can find an instructional video here: https://blusafesolutions.co.uk/how-to-videos

Setting up a fingerprint padlock is very simple and very similar to how you would add your fingerprint on a phone. Use the provided tool to press the set button, then place the desired finger onto the pad, then remove and replace it in slightly different positions 4 times. The first 3 fingerprints added will be admin fingerprints, you will require an admin fingerprint to add any fingerprints in the future.

We recommend that you register multiple fingers/thumbs per user to ensure you have multiple options if one doesn’t recognise.

Yes! Our fingerprint padlock can hold up to 20 different fingerprints at once. We recommend adding multiple fingerprints per user, to ensure they have multiple options to unlock. The admin user would be required to add further fingerprints.

The shackle is the part of the fingerprint padlock that you attach to whatever you want to secure. We have both short and long options available, suitable for different applications. The short shackle is what you would expect from a typical padlock. The long shackle is 20mm longer to accommodate larger objects where you require more space to secure the padlock.

Short Shackle: 90mm long, 55mm wide, 25mm deep

Long Shackle: 110mm long, 55mm wide, 25mm deep

Low voltage batteries, such as those used in the Mirage, should be recharged regularly, otherwise they will lose their storage capacity. It is recommended to recharge the battery at least once every 3 months when not in use for extended periods.
Likely the shackle won’t lock because the internal mechanisms are in the “Locked” position. Use your fingerprint to “unlock” the lock, and then try and lock the shackle again.

You can follow the instructions for adding and deleting a fingerprint in the manual that comes with your lock or check out our ‘How To’ videos.

Adding a fingerprint can be done by using the ‘SET’ pin provided with your lock and inserting it into the SET hole located at the bottom of the lock. If you are adding fingerprints after the Administrator is set, you will need to use the Administrator fingerprint first, and then add a fingerprint.

To remove fingerprints, you will need to reset the lock to its factory setting, which will remove all fingerprints.

The lock has an IP65 waterproof rating (just like a commercially available mobile phone); however, the fingerprint reader and your finger must by clean and dry for the sensor to work properly.
The first three (3) fingerprints recorded are administrators. For better management of the padlock and adding future fingerprints, it is recommended to record who each of the administrators are.
The Mirage padlock can store up to twenty (20) fingerprints.
The Mirage is water resistant and has a resistance rating of IP65. However, we suggest that the lock not be used where it will be exposed to heavy rain as water may intrude into the lock via the shackle or fingerprint sensor.
